"MANHATTAN UNDER THE DOME" by Marian Voicu
A mysterious kitchen dome bowl has descended upon Manhattan. I was inspired by a TV series called "Under the Dome". I just had to replace that extra-terrestrial dome with a kitchen dome bowl, and instead of the little town of Chester's Mill I placed the whole ... Manhattan. But beyond this weird and absurd association between a kitchen dome bowl and Manhattan, what is the role of this dome after all? Could it be protection? If you take a look outside of it, you can see a deserted and arid space, while inside of the magic bowl it's heavily raining over the skyscrapers. The mighty lightning and the heavy rain suggest bad weather conditions. So, outside the hot sun has scorched the earth, while inside there's a flood going on. The true purpose of this surreal digital collage is to sound the alarm about global warming and all the extreme nature manifestations in recent years.
